A Nice Walk in the Bland

What a nice place to go. The trails in this place remind me of
a roller coaster.
Had a couple extra kids with me today. Fawyns sisters. Boy were they
full of piss and vinger.. good god!
We went on a couple caches today and couldn't find them so they were
of course doubting this existed. But Brit found the cache and was extremely
happy. Then of course they wanted to go on 10 more after that. But not
today. It was WOW cold today!

20 And Counting

We pass this rest area every single day. We watched the place get rebuilt all summer long.
Now I have to mention what was interesting about this place. I'm sure its not new of course, but it was to me cause I never seen it before and the fact I don't get out much..lol
There was a rest room for familys. How cool is that. I have seen uni sex bathrooms and of course the his and hers, but never just one for the family.
This cache took us to a tree that was so cool. The limbs were so long and they draped down
to the ground. So you had to actually spread them to get into the clearing in there. It was so peaceful and cool to be in it more or less.
We were looking all over the ground and at the base of the tree. I told Fawyn to go over
and look by the rock. She turned around to tell me nope its not there and as she did that she
said, OH found it!! It was hanging from a nob in the tree...

Hidden Limb

This one was an almost give up and get clue and come back later cache.
When we walked up on this one, we were so sure it was in the hole in the tree.
I mean come on, most are like that.. the obvious. Well not this time..lol
We looked and looked and finally I just stood up and scanned the area. Something caught
my eye, more like a tiny shadow, so I looked a little closer and low and behold there it was.
Sheesh, talk about cool!
It was a film holder with a wire wrapped around it then camfloged with tape then wrapped
around a tree limb.. ya I know the title of the cache should have told me something :)

Hero Cache

Another cache in a cemetery. I love doing these ones cause after we are done, we
look around at how old some of them are. Alot of early 1900's in this one. Whats sad with some is that  you see two names on the head stone and only one is there. So  you know the husband and wife are lonely somewhere waiting to be next to their loved one.
Timothy Brown is buried in this cemetery. He was a soldier from Cedar Springs.
Died in November of 2005. It amazes me how much stuff is around his head stone. Pretty neat to check out. I'm just glad people respect it and leave the stuff alone.
Infact when we were  looking for stage 2, before I read the hint, the gps took us close
to another grave spot and all I kept thinking is god please don't let it be in there somewhere among their stuff.. I couldn't bring myself to touch it if it was.

Muggler Trail

Nice easy trail to take a walk on. Lots of people out today though.
I was walking with Fawyn and telling her as many as we do on this trail, we should invest in some scooters..lol
Of course she was all for that!!

Of course Fawyn found it. She is good at the ones that
are hidden in the ground under a bunch of stuff.. Me I would
have just walked over it..lol

The light makes it plain

This was the last one of the 4 we did today. What's so cool about it, is that Lisa works here and it was close to her house. Nothing like finshing off at home.
She thought it was cool. Once again it was such a fast and easy find, there isn't to many pictures.

Out in the Woods

Ok I'm begining to think this place has it out for me..lol
No but really it seems like there is alot of hidden caches in these trails.
I was so happy when this one turned out to be a easy find. Me being a woman I grumbled the minute we pulled into the parking lot. Almost didn't get out, and said go find it yourself...lol
But NO, I tagged along thinking the whole time my body is going to hurt so bad
after this one..

It was easy, infact I didn't even have time to take many pictures.

TRACY LOOKING THE WAY I FEEL!!

NICE EVEN GROUND..WOOOHOOOO

LISA IS THE LUCKY WINNER!

Huff Trails

This 4 stage cache was a 2 attempt try. The first try I took
Fawyn and Jessica with me. We found the first stage, which was a very
clever bee hide..
But when we got to the second stage we looked forever and couldn't find
it. So I went back home and got a hint from the owners of the cache.

So about a week later Tracy and Tracys sister Lisa and Venessa and I went
out for the second attempt. I tell ya, its always a good idea to bring Tracy
along when you have to retry something. I swear she has a hound dogs nose to sniff
them out.

Lisa found the first stage, Tracy found the second, third and the cache.. sheesh.
Glad we could be there for moral support..lol

Dean Lake Park Cache

This is the first of 4 today that we decided to do.
Easy micro and what a great place to have a cache. The lake was so still and inviteing enough to go fishing. But you know I'm never prepared to do those sorta things..

Lisa trying to hunt it down..

But you know who found it...

Always on Gaurd

The title of this one got me. Of course I'm think of a statue or something to look for.
We get in the area of the cache and I'm like omg duh!!
Yes it's always on gaurd thats for sure. This cache took us to a scenic area again. I don't know what it is about rivers lately, but I have seen plenty of them and can't help but take pictures.

THE ALWAYS ON GAURD PLACE!

Luton Park

I don't understand the park part of this title. It must be that they are going
to turn it into one sooner or later. I don't know, but honestly I would hate
to see it turned into a park cause I love the open fields and the old barns.
You just don't see it around here that much any more.
When we were looking for the cache we kept getting burs on our cloths. The big round ones. The first thing I said to my daughter was I remember getting these darn things out of my horses tail and main and it was a pain in the ass to do...
I love when these caches bring back fond memories. :)

Beggars Canyon

Rockford is such a busy little town.
So it don't suprise me that there is so many geo caches around this area.
This one was a treat to find, only cause I haven't been on this side of the
damn.
We walked up on the place that the cache was at and there was a woman
sitting on the bench with her dogs. Wow, did it smell like dog crap around
there...lol
Usually it don't bother me but that shit was ripe!!
We waited until she was gone until we actually started looking for the cache.
The view from there was pretty awesome. They said if you have time and if its warm out bring a swim suit. Of course it wasn't warm enough, but we now know what
they meant by it. There was a rope swing that you could get on and swing out
into the river.

Now these pictures didn't turn out to good, but you'll get the general idea.
